Course Description:
This course is intended for grade 6 Math pupils. They will enjoy surfing the world of numbers, do its fundamental operations, and perform mathematical procedures as they engage in challenging problems which can increase their self-confidence as they think critically. They will work, interact, and share ideas with each other as they build depth understanding of mathematics. The activities and exercises provided in this course, test and sharpen pupils' numeracy skills as well as critical thinking skills
Course Objectives:
The aims and objectives of this course is for the grade six students to master the basic operations, such as multiplying and dividing rational numbers, fractions and decimals. They should understand pre-algebra concepts, such as solving for single variables, and know how to use ratios and rates to compare data. Student's ability to solve equations, calculate probability, estimate, measure two- and three- dimensional figures and understand relationships between numbers are also being considered.

This course is designed and develop students’ understanding of fundamental mathematical concepts. It aims to solve with speed and accuracy in solving mathematical problems. This requires our students to make connections between topics, to show a deep knowledge about how works mathematics and how we use it to solve real-life problems. They will also develop an extensive understanding of concepts by moving from the use of concrete to pictorial to abstract representations. This will effectively prepare students of all ages and abilities with the skills necessary to think critically, communicate effectively, and accomplish real-world tasks.

The course is intended for Math 2 to enable the pupils to learn and understand fully the basic concepts and skills of the four fundamental operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of numbers. This is also to allow and enhance their critical thinking skills to solve mathematical problems and apply them in their day-to-day real-life situations hence, almost anything that we do everyday involves some form of mathematics.
